The EGR valve recirculates exhaust gas back into the intake to lower emissions, but over time it clogs the inlet with soot and oil, sticks, and triggers faults and limp mode. For off-road vehicles we disable it in software so it stops causing problems.

Is EGR removal legal on the road?+
No. Removing emissions equipment for road use is against the Road Vehicles (Construction & Use) Regulations 1986 (Reg 61a) and can carry fines of up to £1,000 for a car and £2,500 for a light goods vehicle. This service is for off-road, competition or export vehicles only.
Why do EGR valves cause so many problems?+
They constantly feed hot, sooty exhaust gas into a cool intake, where it builds up sludge, sticks the valve and eventually blocks the manifold. On high-mileage diesels it's one of the most common fault sources.
Can you do EGR and DPF together?+
Yes — they're commonly done together, often with a remap, for the cleanest-running, most reliable result on an off-road diesel.
