ECU Remapping

A remap unlocks the performance the manufacturer left on the table. We read your vehicle's ECU, write a custom map tailored to it, and give you more power, more torque and — on turbo diesels especially — better fuel economy. No generic third-party files, ever.

Tailored, in-house software

Every file is developed in-house and mapped to your exact vehicle — engine, gearbox and spec. We never load a generic off-the-shelf file, which is what protects your engine and delivers the gains safely.

More power, more torque, better MPG

Petrol and diesel both gain power and drivability; turbo diesels typically see fuel savings of up to 20% as well, because the engine works more efficiently through the mid-range.

Done through the OBD port

Around 95% of vehicles are remapped through the diagnostic (OBD) port — no dismantling. Older ECUs that can't be read on the bench are "chipped" (the chip is removed and reprogrammed).

Your original file is always kept

Before we start we take a full read and a diagnostic health check. Your standard file is stored, so the vehicle can be returned to factory at any time.

Good to know

Common questions.

How much power will my vehicle gain?+

It depends on the engine — a turbo diesel commonly gains 25–50 bhp and a big slug of torque at Stage 1, naturally-aspirated engines less. Send us your reg or use the vehicle search and we'll tell you the realistic figures for your exact car.

Will a remap affect my fuel economy?+

Usually for the better on turbo diesels — improvements of up to 20% are possible because there's more torque low down, so you use less throttle. Drive it hard and you'll use the extra power instead; that's your choice.

Is remapping safe for my engine?+

Yes, when it's done properly with a custom file that stays within safe limits — which is exactly why we develop our own. We also check the vehicle is healthy first and data-log before and after.

Will it affect my warranty?+

A remap is virtually untraceable, but if a manufacturer finds it, it may affect your warranty. Your original file is retained so we can put it back to standard whenever you need.

How long does it take?+

A typical remap takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the vehicle. We come to you or you visit the workshop near Keighley.
